Julius Schulz

Born in Arnhem, lives in Rotterdam.Moved to Rotterdam to study at the Rotterdam Conservatory Jazz Dep. (Codarts). He specialiced in Jazz music. Took lessons with: Peter Ypma, John Engels, Hans van Oosterhout, Lucas van Merwijk, Fred Krens. Did projects with Ab Schaap, Ben van der Dungen, Jerry van Rooijen, Rob Pronk.Has been playing free-lance and as a part of several groups since his graduation. Styles: Hard Bop, Be-Bop, Swing, Big Band, Funk. Playing Features:Strong drive, Excellent brush work, Solid Groove, Dynamics, Routine and Creativity. He has won the soloist award at the Veluwe Big Band Festival 2007 at Harderwijk. And a soloist award at the 2008 and 2009 National Big Band Competition "Jazzmeer" at Hoofddorp.
