About Me

What people are saying:
"There are many bands on the Columbus local scene that are notable, some that aren’t, and a few that I believe music lovers simply must pay attention to...Our Cat Philip is one of the latter."
-Life on the C-Bus.com
"Our Cat Philip combines Sollisch's signature alto voice with acoustic-pop melodies and reflective piano interludes to produce a dreamy landscape of pure indie genius."
-Breaking the Silence Blog
...their original songs were more exciting and exuberant anyway...with a cellist, violinist and 2 multi-instrumentalist (guitar, keyboard, drums) songwriters, they made me wish more older bands were this outgoing and risky. Their youth was literally shown on their faces - but it was endearing and made my jaded ears open up. Hopefully more folks will get the chance to check them out soon.
-donewaiting.com
...Standout track “Call The Moon” leads on with a Broken Social Scene vibe and a wonderful conclusion. Check it out all the way to the end. The real gem here is “Time is Just A Healer for the Sick” Take my word for it. I can’t wait to see what these boys do next, right after they finish college.-National Blog, The Tape
"It’s tough to put Our Cat Philip into any specific category, but the band employs the sort of simple, twee-folk melodies that make people bob their heads from side to side instead of front to back."
-The Other Paper
"Max Sollisch writes songs with the emotional bareness of Elliott Smith, and like Smith, his permeating sadness shows through whatever shroud of pop accessibility and exuberant melody his band cooks up."
-Columbus Alive"
