I am here for Friends

About Me

When I first meet someone I'm a bit shy. It takes me a long time to call someone my friend but once I do I'm a staunch friend for life. I'm very private and I like things to be peaceful & simple. I hate confrontation but mess with me or my family and you've got a tough battle ahead. I'm a college grad in Nursing Science and a former RN which I no longer care to continue. I traded that career for one with much less stress and the chance to travel the world with my husband. I collect stuffed monkeys and I have a miniature dachshund named Daisy.
THE WONDERFUL PEOPLE IN MY LIFE:
MY HUSBAND: DAN is the love of my life, my soul mate. He's handsome, honest, hard working, forgiving and has a devilish sense of humor that has kept me laughing (and on my toes) for 27 years. He's a site manager for a mining construction company. He loves to ride his 4 wheeler in the mountains and he's an electronics guru. I still lose my breath when I see him come through the door. Our love is passionate, unconditional and eternal.
OUR DAUGHTER: ASHLEY inherited Dan's blue eyes and devilish sense of humor. She's been the light of our world from the day of her birth. Her heart is as beautiful as her face. She's honest to a fault and has a stubborn streak but we love her anyway! She collects frogs and sea turtles when she's not busy chasing after Johnna.
OUR GRANDDAUGHTER: JOHNNA is Nana's Little Stinker and Poppy's Ruggratt. At 4 years old she's so articulate that we tend to forget we're talking to a child. She's brought new life and energy into our family. Her favorite cartoons are Dora and Diego, Mickey Mouse and any Disney Princess. She loves to play with her kitchen set, Barbie, dress up and puppy-sit Daisy. As she grows older I hope we're able to show her just how precious she is.
MY PARENTS: Dick and Judy have been married for 44 years. They gave my brother and me a wonderful life. We grew up knowing we would always be loved and cared for. They're good Christian people that have worked hard for everything they have. They would give their last dime or bite of food to help another. They're devoted to God, their family, home and country.
My dad was a mining equipment salesman for many years then an OTR trucker until he retired. Now he loves to fish and he's come up with the perfect recipe for homemade beef & deer jerky.
My mom has been a special education and kindergarten aid for about 30 years and plans to retire in 2 years. She collects elephants and angels and makes the world's best fudge.
MY BROTHER: RITCH is a loveable pain in the buns. His sense of humor never rests and neither does his patriotism. He was in the army but now is an OTR trucker. He loves to hunt, fish and ride his motorcycle. He's a fantastic cook!
OUR SISTER-IN-LAW: MISSY is as sweet as a person can get. I think of her as my sister. She collects raccoons and loves to read. I think she loves their 2 cats almost as much as my brother!
OUR NEPHEW: RICKY was just married to a lovely girl named Billie and this fall they will be proud parents.
OUR SON-IN-LAW: MJ is an overgrown Cabbage Patch Kid! He's a paramedic and a volunteer firefighter. He's very good with Johnna and he works long hours to provide for her and Ashley. There are times I want to smack him up-side his head and yell "What's wrong with you?" but as long as Ashley loves him, we'll keep him. He's a Superman freak and he likes to hunt, fish and golf.
OUR PUPPY: DAISY is our 4 legged baby (dogs are people too ya know!). She is our 2 year old miniature black and tan Dachshund. She's our travel buddy when we're working out of town and my couch potato buddy when I'm not feeling well. She loves stuffy toys, rawhide, peanutbutter suckers and playing with Johnna.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People with different life styles and interests than my own. I believe the best way to see the big picture is to take a closer look at all the details. Sometimes it takes others to point out things you haven't noticed yet.

Learning to be at peace with myself

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2000. It took a year of tests before I finally got the diagnosis. At my worst point I was confined to a wheelchair. On my "good days" I have minor aches & pains but I can still function at home or at work. Pain is a constant companion, it NEVER leaves a FM patient. It's a matter of severity and coping mechanisms. The best treatment I've found so far is a good support system...my FAMILY! I'm an independent person, so it's very hard for me to ask for help but when I do my family is always there for me. My husband, daughter & parents have seen me through some very tough times. I'm blessed to have them in my life.

Adoption is the option.

In honor of victims of sexual abuse.

May my soul be as beautiful as a white rose.

Don't waist your time requesting me as a friend if you only want to add to your numbers or advertise something.
