BANG BANG YOU DEAD is dead

I’ve written quite some band biographies in the past, in addition to that a neverending list of press statements, news postings and other stuff about bands I promoted or worked with.
Most times it’s about bringing forward the strengths and vantages of an artist in order to convince an audience to listen, buy or remember yet another band. But what can you say about a band that basically has just started their journey?
So this is going to be different. Talking about BANG BANG YOU DEAD, for me, is a demonstration of trust. It’s easy to believe in a band that has already sold a few thousand records and played hundreds of shows. It’s easy to believe in a band that, without any doubt, is going to be “the next big thing” because they play the hippest sound. It’s easy to believe in a band that has been around for years and has fans all over the planet.
BANG BANG YOU DEAD are long way off the stuff mentioned above and still I believe in these guys and their music. Coming from a manifold musical and personal background reaching from Punk over Post-/Hardcore and Metal to Classic Rock, BANG BANG YOU DEAD are a tough call to classify. Fascinated and inspired by innovative and ground-breaking bands such as Silent Drive, Osker, Bayside or Underoath, BANG BANG YOU DEAD follow their tradition of constantly recreating their own individual and surprising sound.
All genrecategories collapse trying to force the band into their shape, so I won’t even give it a try. Let’s just call it rock music.
Ambition is not a question of a packed and neverending schedule. It’s a question of dedication and love for the things you do. Even if they’re never gonna be “the next big thing” or a multi-record-seller, I know one thing for sure: BANG BANG YOU DEAD is going to touch the heart and the soul of every listener exposed to their music, simply because they love what they do.
