JE se narodil v Plzni a posledních pět let působil v USA.Vystudoval střední průmyslovou školu stavební a začal studium na Západočeské univerzitě v Plzni. Fotit začal v 18ti letech, když si pořídil první kinofilmovou zrcadlovku. V té době se pohyboval mezi mladými muzikanty, kteří ho inspirovali k fotodokumentaci koncertů a vytváření portfolií hudebních skupin.Serióznějšímu focení se začal věnovat po příjezdu do USA, kde si pořídil digitální zrcadlovku. V té době ho nejvíc ovlivnila tamní krajina, nový způsob života a móda. Má za sebou tři cesty napříč Amerikou a na Aljašku, kde fotil především krajinu a prostý a drsný život místních obyvatel. Nezanevřel však ani na hudební scénu a spolupracoval s několika kapelami, pokrýval jejich koncerty a nakonec se stal jejich oficiálním fotografem. Nicméně jeho hlavním zájmem se stala módní fotografie, které se v současné době věnuje naplno.V USA spolupracoval s kubánským disidentem a fotografem Titem Trellesem.Když zrovna nefotí, jezdí Jakub na snowboardu, chodí po horách, hraje na piáno, na kytaru, čte nebo sleduje filmy. ____________________________________________________________ JE was born in Pilsen, Czech Republic, but has been living and working in the U.S. for the last five years.He graduated from an industry and construction high school and started studying at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. He began with photography at the age of 18 after buying his first film camera. At that time, he was spending time around young musicians that inspired him to document their music shows and create their bands’ portfolios.He began doing more serious photography work after moving to the U.S. where he purchased a new digital SLR. He was mainly influenced by the American landscape, new way of life and fashion. Jakub traveled three times across the U.S. and to Alaska, while he mainly captured landscape and the pure and rough life of local people. He didn’t give up music photography either and continued cooperating with various American bands, covered their concerts and did their portfolios, until he became their official photographer. Nonetheless, his main target has become fashion photo. He is now fully dedicated to it.While in the U.S., he cooperated with Tito Trelles, a Cuban dissident and a remarkable photographer.When he’s not shooting, Jakub is snowboarding, hiking, playing the piano or guitar, reading or watching movies.
