The purpose of this site is to create awareness of social anxiety and depression. I understand many young people might be feeling socially anxious and depressed and dont know how to get help. The mission of this site is to help you find those resources and to help you meet others who are in the same situation you are. If you know any resources please help us spread the word and leave the information in the comments area.

My Interests

Social Anxiety: Do you experience intense fear during social interactions? Do you avoid speaking in class or dining with co-workers? Do you start trembling and sweating at the thought of attending a party? If so, you may be suffering from social anxiety disorder, also known as social phobia. Social anxiety disorder can make you feel trapped, shut away from the world. But it doesn't have to be that way (socialanxiety.factsforhealth.org).

Depression: A depressive disorder is an illness that involves the body, mood, and thoughts. It affects the way a person eats and sleeps, the way one feels about oneself, and the way one thinks about things. A depressive disorder is not the same as a passing blue mood. It is not a sign of personal weakness or a condition that can be willed or wished away. People with a depressive illness cannot merely "pull themselves together" and get better.
