'Its like they said in the 60's, if you could remember a thing you werent really a part of it. Techno took this idea to perfection and Griffin's novel Playgrounds reflects more than an honest part"
Thomas P. Heckmann (the man behind Drax).
Playgrounds Synopsis
Tom Griffin’s Playgrounds was written as a portrait of the late 90's rave and dance scene. The novel follows the story of Luke, Steph, Sean and Liz as they weave their way through the clubs, drugs and raves of this time.
To portray this period accurately, Griffin was given permission to reference some of the biggest names in dance music culture including: The KLF, Orbital, Thomas P. Heckmann, Sasha, John Digweed, Jeff Mills, Scott Hardkiss, Rabbit in the Moon, Chicane, Binary Finary, Richie Hawtin, Hybrid, Adam Freeland, DJ Shadow and Luke Slater. The result being one of the most honest portrayals of this sub-culture every put to print.
