If one of your life's goal is to make a difference through reggae
music, then growing up under the influence of Arthur Wale is one way
to start.
R. Embasida, an artist who for years has been quietly honing his
craft, is poised and ready to deliver his brand of reggae to fans on a
global level.
Born Demetrios Hendley in Philadelphia to Jamaican parents, R.
Embasida found himself exposed to the culture at an early age. His
uncle, Arthur Wale, who has produced artists like Beenie Man and
Sizzla in recent years, has definitely made an impression on the
artist. It was as a child while watching a variety of legendary
artists voicing for his uncle that his love for the art blossomed.
With musical influences such as veteran dancehall dj Shabba Ranks,
and cultural artists Sizzla and Damian Marley making an impression on
the Righteous Embasida, his debut album is now completed and the
singles are hitting the airwaves. 'Cry No More', 'Gather The Youths'
and 'It's Not Easy' on the White Dove Records label, to which he is
currently signed, are three singles now in rotation.
Ambition and perserverance has taken R. Embasida to where he is today.
Humility, hard work and the raw talent he possess will guarantee him
staying power.
