About Me

I was born in New Orleans to my parents Greg and Norma who met waiting tables. Music has always been an integral part of my life. Both my parents were musicians, and my mom's grandfather was a well-known music professor at Brother Martin named Prof Taverna who actually taught my dad's father music. Growing up I was always adventurous doing things habitually before I thought about them. I moved to Covington when I was 5. I was home schooled and had a lot of time to climb a big oak tree in my front yard everyday. I was always the youngest in the group and especially liked playing football with the neighborhood kids in the street or in the field next door. My friends have always said of me that I was some kind of genius. I do think a lot and enjoy being creative and innovative, but my IQ is not in the genius range. My middle school years consisted of making woodland forts and bike ramps and playing army, football, and video games. At 13 I went through my bad stage. That's the year I went to a private school and did everything I could to be a rebel, which amounted to drinking, smoking, and porn, which I found all destroy lives. I have a good long term memory for scholastic information, so I did very well in public high school because it was mostly reviewing what I had learned in private school and home schooling. I have never been a morning person, so I also slept through most of high school. Allot of people thought I was on drugs, but I didn't even do that when I was 13. I was the guy in high school with all the friends that were mostly girls but no girlfriend, and I'm still not sure what to think about that. Ever since my dad had gotten in his really bad car wreck around 6th grade, I had wanted to be a doctor. The closer I got to college, the more that included alternative medicine, massage therapy, and even counseling. All my life I had grown up in church, but it wasn't until the end of high school or the beginning of college that I really started getting serious with God. I had lead a very comfortable, sheltered life. That’s when I started paying attention to how hard people's lives really were around me. This wholeness I had in Christ started becoming a solution for other people and not just a comfortable convenience for myself. I became more involved in church while in college, but even after I graduated that comfort circle is still something I'm needing to break out of. The first year of college I double majored in Pre-Physical Therapy and Psychology and I had a job at a chiropractic clinic doing massage therapy. Leading to the end of my freshmen year in college, a desire began to grow in me for the unification of the church and the creation of a collaborative non-profit foundation. I still wanted to be a doctor but this desire was so strong and wouldn't go away that one night I told God that He either had to take away this desire or He had to do this thing because I obviously couldn't. That night I had a dream I was speaking face to face with Jesus, and He told me that my answer was 2 Corinthians 6:1-2. I grabbed my bible as soon as I woke up and my answer was clear. I then changed my major to Entrepreneurship since that was the closest thing they had to the non-profit field. I actually work for my church now doing community philanthropic work in New Orleans, and on the side I'm working on producing a video game based on the book Pilgrims Progress by John Bunyan. My heart is to see all the fragments of the church come together, even if it is only for philanthropy at first. Anything else you want to know about me, just ask.
