I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Seeking escape from myself I rushed headlong for destruction, riding along at top speed like Nasrudin looking for his donkey...
In the final moment I was too much a coward to die, but I came very close and in that loss I found:
Some friends that were scared off, they did not like seeing me on a vent... can't blame them.
Other friends that stepped up and took control while I was on the vent.
Acquaintances that drew near and became my life support and my emotional armor.
A guy that barely tolerated me became a brother I never looked for, but had always needed.
A new/old journey, interrupted many years ago and now continuing.
A sense of self that was lacking, a new joy for life and the future.
I know, this is where you expect fate to step in and smack me down. Maybe. But it could be that I had to learn some more before I left, or maybe I still have gifts to give. In any case the end will come when it does, the universe is right on time.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People that embrace the light in themselves and the universe. Darkness comes along fast enough as it is.

My Blog

Round and Round

Well, here we are back to Spring again. Sometimes it seems that life is on a loop, the same stuff over and over again day after day. Weeks and months and years go by and sometimes it's like the drone ...

Thinking outside the (oatmeal) box.

The words "oatmeal" and "box" really don't go together in my head very well... don't know why but that cardboard cylinder just glitches when it gets parsed as "box". But if a heart shaped cardboard ...

The word is not the thing.

I know I've talked about this type of thing before, but this has been on my mind of late so once again into the pool of human communication. The origin of the word communication means "to impart, share...

Doggy Style

Dogs are interesting creatures. They live beside us, seeing us as members of their pack, giving and receiving affection and trust. The range of personalities you see in dogs is stunning, they really s...

What's it worth to you?

We have been taught that this season is about buying things for those we claim to care about. We have been taught that the more we care about someone, the more we should spend on them. Now, it's not p...

Notes on this and that.

Just a few notes about what is going on lately, nothing earth shaking. I have been having headaches, but nothing like the ones I used to get before we found the tumor. I had an MRI and then a visit wi...

The gift that keeps on taking.

This little number is about gifts that are not gifts. After I woke up from the coma, I had no place to go and nothing to do. Friends stepped in and helped me, and as a consequence of their friendship,...

Failure is not, not an option.

I have always felt the phrase "Failure is not an option" was truncated. It should read "Failure is not an option, it's an inevitability". I don't mean that as a joke, but there are times when it could...

It’s the thought that counts.

How many times have you heard the phrase "It's the thought that counts"? Normally it is tossed out as a placation to someone that just received a gift of dubious quality or value. And that's fine, if ...

Broken, Not Broken, and Fixed

I really like to fix things, I've mentioned before that I will spend an inordinate amount of time (and maybe a little money) fixing something that is easily replaced. I have always been this way... th...
