The Open Mind were originally formed as The Drag Set, releasing one single in May 1967. Shortly after they became The Open Mind, a reference signifying their "open mindedness" to art and music (as well as hallucinogenic substances and frantic double bass drums!) releasing one self-titled LP and a single featuring the psychedelic classics "Magic Potion" and "Cast a Spell"
