S.E.E.
Small Ensemble Experiments
Hosted by Matt Butler and Asher Fulero
Formed as a smaller sibling to the wildly successful Everyone Orchestra organized by percussionist Matt Butler, the new S.E.E. (or Small Ensemble Experiments) pairs Butler with frequent EO-collaborator and keyboardist extraordinaire Asher Fulero. The two perform as a duo but also collaborate with many of their musical friends in various combinations, performing completely improvised music as well as original songs and classic covers. Adapting the concepts of the Everyone Orchestra's 'conducting', the pair will often work off of visual cues, include ideas gleaned through audience participation, and make use of the EO's ubiquitous Whiteboard for scrawling ideas and descriptors. Always exciting to watch and be a part of, S.E.E. is part of a new trend in concert-going, where the audience is in on the creation process and a the musicians are often just as curious to see what will happen.
