Furthur is a collective of people with artistic and scenic interests from many backgrounds -musicians, painters, photographers, designers, writers...- oriented towards the creation, development and promotion of events related to music and arts.
The trip started back in 1996, and since then the Furthur bus has inexorably howled down a trail of unexpected and unpredictable artistic creations both inside and outside of Madrid... More than 10 years later, the bus is still pushing its engine into new horizons, expanding our ideas of a wholesome and complete experience.
The musical concepts involved in these events encompass the organic and the digital, the acoustic and the electronic, the most ancient and the newest trends in musical creation. From downtempo hypnotic whirlwinds to fast-paced, trance-inducing beats, our aim is to push the frontiers of the sound experiences of our audience.
Our trademark in dancefloor music is psychedelic trance, and the artists that have performed at our events are a modest and humble yet relevant showcase of the scene in the last 10 years. Some outstanding organic trance acts have also made us stomp on the floor to acoustic psychedelia.
Very diverse influences in live acoustic music and downtempo electronica have resulted in a caleidoscope of world musicians and electronic artists, the link between them all being a concept of music based on quality and a daring approach to consciousness expanding through sound.
But music is only a part of what we try to create; since the beginning the environment of our events has been held as a piece of central importance, creating atmospheres that melt manmade creations into the stunning tapestry of the natural settings at which we have fortunately been able to create our experiences. The care for the environment has been a major concern since the beginning, and it will continue to be so, always. It is our way of being grateful for the privilege of surrounding our audience -and ourselves- with the most beautiful and impressive natural elements.
In these natural settings, the creation of visual sketches has also been a priority since the early days, and our visual artists have always stretched their imagination to amaze us with first quality optical experiences, seamlessly adapted to the particular setting, from ground-breaking video and slide projections to elaborate decoration.
In short, what we aim for is to give our audience a full-fledged experience for the senses, the mind, and the soul...
