Stephanos Droussiotis was born in 1984 in Limassol, Cyprus. He had his first piano lesson at the age of 6 and in 1993 he met the pianist Tania Economou, with whom he studied until the age of 17. During these years Stephanos took part in many different concerts in Cyprus thus familiarising with the Russian piano technique (Neuhaus Technik). He graduated with Honours from the "Nicolas Economou Piano School" with the Examiner Vadim Suchanov, Professor at the Münchenes Konservatorium. Apart from his classical studies, Stephanos was a member of the children’s choir of the "Diastasis Cultural Association", taking part in many musical performances in Cyprus and abroad (1994 - 2000). At the age of 17 he attended a master classes series in Germany taught by Prof. Irina Edelstein, who later on would be his piano tutor for two years. In September 2002 he was accepted to the "Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst" in Frankfurt, where he completed his piano studies with the world known pianist Franz Vorraber. During his studies in Germany, Stephanos gave many concerts (solo, chamber music, etc.), expanding his classical repertoire and trying to emphasize on Greek composers. In October 2004 he was chosen to represent the state of Hessen at a private concert in Vienna, as a guest of the German Ambassador in Austria. There he received many comments regarding his musical sensitivity. In March 2006 accompanied by an orchestra, Stephanos played the Piano Concerto Nr. 1 by Frederic Chopin. The German musical critic Richard Hörnicke wrote about the concert: "Through his very own artistic interpretation of the Romance, Stephanos managed to achieve musical expression at its highest standard". Since November 2006 he lives in Athens, extending his training in theatre studies.
