If the windchill was 9 Farenheit degrees lower, it would equal the value in Celsius.

About Me

Way to serious as a teen, and making up for it now. Well, in a very responsible way, anyhow ;-) I have a B.S. in Chemistry from Southeastern Louisiana University. I like chocolate, a lot. I moved to Memphis TN in 2002. I like to ride bikes (the kind you pedal). I'm working on a doctorate in physical/computational chemistry at The University of Memphis. I like rock climbing, and am just about confident enough to take someone new on my own. Easy stuff, sport climbing only. I have one article published, and two more submitted with my latest research. If you're interested, check out some of my writing, presentations, and tutorials. I'm trying to graduate this year. This entails the writing and defense of a dissertation.** UPDATE ** Moving to Minneapolis, MN for a new job in November, and Alisha S. is the greatest most beutiful woman in the world (She's the most beAutiful woman as well!).

My Interests

Rock climbing, sailing, photography, weightlifting and most recently biking. Since I'm moving to the twin cities I make have to take up ice skating, ice fishing, cross-country skiing, snow man building, and spelunking.

Rock climbing is fantastic, something I've really enjoyed over the last couple of years. It's a to bad that living in Memphis means I have to drive for at least 3 hours (one way!) to climb. And no climbing gyms here!

http://www.memphismountaineers.com/ "There are days when we all hate the fact that we live in a flood plain."

I'm relatively new to sailing, but competition is always great. These guys never so much as put the boats in the water unless they are racing. So try having your first experience be as the only crew to a very competitive skipper racing against 5 others. It rocks! (Lightning class for you buffs out there)

Biking: It's MS 150 time again! Want to sponsor me?

I'd like to meet:

Friends, buddies, compadres and such. You know the type.

Music:

Ah music. Well, nothing special here. Like most people, I claim to have a diverse interest. But I'm so not trendy, and I can NEVER "Name that band."

U2, Aerosmith, Elvis, The Dave Matthews Band, AC/DC, Metallica, Nirvana, and Frank Sinatra come to mind as particularly rocking.

Movies:

Powers of Ten

Charles and Ray Eames Universe I have leaped head on into the recent sci-fi bandwagon. Go Spiderman, LOTR, Star Wars, and Batman!

Television:

None.

Books:

"The best story of my life" award goes to Stephen King for his Dark Tower series. I'm also a big fan of Robert Jordan, though he really need to pick up the pace! I'll read pretty much anything I get my hands on.

Heroes:

Lance. For being a cancer survivor, and taking it to the Frenchies in their back own back yard :)

Einstein, Dirac, Schrodinger, Pauli, Heisenberg and all those guys who basically solved all of chemistry with a little physics in the early 1900s. To be that smart!

My brothers. Two of the smartest and yet still cool and interesting people I know. Jesse is off to space institute for his graduate work in physics this fall, and Brady will be a better programmer than me this time next year.

Dancing in the rain

For two hours this morning I strutted around my apartment glancing out the window, peeking between the blinds and even walking out for a few minutes to observe the dark and gloomy sky.  Not a dr...
