About Me

John “Bubba” Gould Is a Guitarist, Steel Player, and Singer who has been performing for the past 30 years in and around the Houston area. He began his musical interest at a very early age taking up the Piano while still in elementary school. John then took up the Tenor Saxophone in school which he played until his brother introduced him to the Electric Guitar. John learned and studied the Electric Guitar and Bass Guitar until the Country Music craze entered. He toured the country with several acts as a backup musician. The Pedal Steel Guitar caught his interest and he began to study that instrument and became very proficient at it as well. John has had the good fortune to perform as a backup musician playing the Steel Guitar with several of Country Music’s big stars. John is also well known in the Music Industry for his knowledge of Midi and Computer Music technology. He has worked for Peavey Electronics and Behringer as a product specialist due to his extensive knowledge in the workings and interfacing of Music gear. John incorporates the use of Midi and Computers to make his act as full and live sounding as possible. He can add other musicians to the mix or just go with his Itty Bitty Midi Band as he calls it. It gives him total control of every musical nuance down to a single note or sound. One person can sound like a 20-piece band or a small 3 or 4 piece combo. John has performed as a solo act for the last few years playing at venues like Capps Piano Bar, Post Oak Grill, Molly’s, and Walden Yacht Club, Gold Club, L C’s, Jack and Hectors, Henry Wayne’s just to name a few. For 21 months John could be seen at The Casa Mexican Restaurant in Atascosita. To this date that has been his longest stay at one venue.

More about me: I have worked for Peavey as a product specialist and part time artist relations person. The majority of my time with Peavey was spent out on the road with the About The Music Tour. Which we took a mobile stage and a full back line and P.A. system all over the country and did shows. I got to interact with the employee's of the different retail outlets and show them the products in use and how they performed. Along the way I learn little tricks about the gear that I passed alongto the dealers. But when I wasn't out with the show rig, I got to spend time in Nashville at the artist relations office there. Helping with placing gear in the hands of artist to get feedback and exposure on the product. At BEHRINGER USA as a tech trainer, I was going around to the different music retailers in my coverage area, and teaching them the inn's and out's of the Behringer product line. Giving them tips on how to relate the features of the products to there customers. Showing them how to demo the product quickly and effectively. Also all the tech trainers helped in putting together a in store training CD.And before working for those two manufactures I worked for a sound development company called Syntaur Productions. At Syntaur I did a little bit of everything from phone sales, to packaging and shipping product, to actually programming and making interesting sounds for keyboards. I did quite a bit of tech support as well, I have a fairly extensive background with interfacing keyboards and computers.I have been interested and been involved with Midi and Computers since about 1988. I play guitar, Steel guitar, Bass, Keyboards , and a Midi Wind Controller. I perform as a solo act Using Midi controlled devices for Drums, Bass and Keyboard parts that I cannot play while playing GuitarWhen I'm not working on my own stuff, I do consulting for people with recording studios and Midi setups . I also do custom sequences and digital recording for song writers . Maybe some day I'll even get around to doing some recording of my own material.I have always been willing to exchange ideas and sequences with other people . Please feel free to email me about your MIDI experiences and Digital Audio recording on computers
