Garlic Frog Diet

Fabrice (l'Enfance Eternelle) & Hugo (Parkinson square) started Garlic F.D in the beginning of 91.They found their first Guitar player Thierry Holweck (Plaies Mobiles) 10 days before their 1st show,opening for Victims Family in May 91. After a 4 monthes hiatus when Hugo was drumming for various bands in California & pre-grunge Seattle, the band released their 1st EP on their own Rotation Sound Label. For 5 years the band toured,opened for a few "big" names (Helmet, Love Battery, Fred Frith, Addicts,Burning Heads,Hard-ons...),put out 2 Albums,2 EP's,several Split records w/ fellow bands Samiam, Drive Blind & Portobello Bones,many compilations... In June 96, Thierry decided to call it quits.Gilles (Haine Brigade) was a natural replacement. A few monthes later, Garlic's new line-up put out their first songs on split 7"s w/ Shaggy Hound & Deadly Toys, & played their first shows supporting Chokebore & Samiam. The beginning of 99 saw the release of their 3rd album,"Girls just hate Garlic,...Boys don't !" on Lollipop records. More shows followed here & there (despite their legendary laziness !) and a bunch of compilations in France,Canada & the US were achieved before the final split. The contribution to a "Tribute to Die Kreuzen" CD on Erosion (USA),w/ bands such as Napalm Death,Voivod,Bionic & Mike Watt & Liner notes by Sonic Youth 's Thurston Moore was a nice way to end a useless career.
