This section shows a small selection of the work that I created over the past few years. But first of all let me take a moment to tell you a bit about myself.
I have been attracted to fine arts since childhood. I grew up in a very creative environment where music, film, literature and contemporary art played a major role. The first years of my life I engaged myself in music - in particular playing piano and writing songs. Many people suggested that I start a professional career as a pianist, but I had the feeling that music was just one part of my passion.
At this point I discovered my affection for literature and began writing short stories. It was not until later that I decided to study film, because I realized that movies combine all the things I love: music, literature and astonishing images.
Film studies offered me an exciting and wide-ranging approach to the history and theory of film and gave me the opportunity of essential practical film making experiences. I especially loved dealing with the possibility of manipulating film digitally with editing and compositing tools. Digital filmmaking provides filmmakers the chance to realize their visual ideas without nearly any restraints. That's why I chose to write my senior university thesis on digital filmmaking and its advantages and disadvantages in comparison to traditional filmmaking. A small German publishing house will be publishing my thesis this year.
3 years ago I also started to learn web programming, because I wanted to be capable of designing multimedia content for Internet, too.
In 2006 I founded the company SONARIUS MEDIA to develop interesting film ideas and to provide multimedia design for clients.
Currently I’m working on several new projects. "B-Town" was my first short film and it is very close to my heart. Back then I was just playing around. I was especially interested in creating cinematic atmospheres. Her new project, which is called JEW’DYSSEE, has just been launched. Jew’dyssee is not just a great great mix of old Yiddish songs with modern beats. It’s rather a network for creative people who are interested in Jewish culture. Absolutely anybody is invited to join this group and to come up with new ideas or projects. I can highly recommend this platform, because it will give people the opportunity to promote their work and to collaborate with other artists.
