About Me

facing extinction started in early in the 19th century as a fifty-five piece crusty/grindy outfit. austin- guitar/vox, jason - vox, lucas - bass, bucky - guitar/vox, kellen - drums and 50 other percussion drummers that wear masks like slipknot. it took us awhile to really get off the ground. kellen decided to leave after we all had 3 or 4 songs down. he became a prize fighter on the bearded combat circut. we continued jamming without a drummer in garages or wherever and it was roughly a year before we found another drummer who we really clicked with. then mike joined. by then we had like 12 songs to lump on his ass. we jammed together for about six months or so in mikes front room, then lucas left the band to join the jah roots priesthood. bucky took over on bass and we have since decided to stay a four-piece. austin - guitar/vox, jason - vox, bucky - bass/vox, and mike played with us for about 1.5 years, but now kellen is revived from the dead and is up and killing again playing drums in facing extinction! All suffering from severe attention deficit disorder. we played our first show in june of '07 at a barn party for a friends graduation where jason got punched in the head about 37 times. our lyrics deal with alot of different things that we feel at least have some relevance in todays world. we like to play fast crust/grind and experiment with other aspects of music. we love playing live and especially just interacting with the crowd, tossing around alot of inside jokes. our childish antics sometimes confuse folks. once someone yelled at us: "you guys dont even make any sense!". we try not to take ourselves too seriously. here's a grainy, shitty sounding live video just for you!
