Those who can't learn from old movies are doomed to remake them.

About Me

Unlike most of MySpace, I am not tied to any certain subculture. Though I have fiddled in the fields of Mod Revivalism, Goth, and Punk, I don't wish to tether myself to any of them, what since none of them allow Hawaiian shirts.
I am an avid music fan, my tastes encompass just about everything, ranging from 1930s jazz to gothic industrial, early reggae to hardcore punk. I am entirely self-taught in electric rock n' roll guitar and ukulele, and am currently in the process of putting together a little punk ensemble together for the kids down at the Shrimp Shack. Because, honestly, what kind of wretched existence do we occupy in which the kids down at the Shrimp Shack can't get their groove on?
I'm also a talentless filmmaker and an aspiring actor. My screenwriting has proven shock over substance and my acting is on par with that of a cactus (a cactus who is constantly typecast as a 'nerd'). Hardly quality, but definitely not pretentious or empty. I'm a firm (yet supple) follower of independent and transgressive movies (read: sleazy and exploitative filth).
Mostly, though, I'm nothing more than your average, everyday household nerd. Approach me on the street, should you see fit! I don't mind! Just make sure you have a tight grip on your purse and/or wallet.MyGen Profile Generator

My Interests

Wacky cult films, dancing unprofessionally, vintage scooters, classic point-n'-click adventure games, animated television, writing, vintage clothing, vegetarianism, bourbon, dark beer, fine cigars, flavorful hot sauces, discontinued soda pops, lounge music, Dungeons & Dragons, the world of 'Myst', bowling, cooking, silent screen-era starlets, film noir, drag queens, startling the elderly, throttling small children, worshipping false idols, and playing a myriad of instruments, including the almighty UKULELE, God's gift to the world of music.

I'd like to meet:

Since most of the folk I admire are dead, I just wish to meet any nice people who share my interests in music, movies, or just general mischievities, dig?

Books:

Science fiction! Most of the time, it’s always stronger in the written word than when portrayed on a screen! There are very few specific authors that I target, though:
-Douglas Adams
-Philip K. Dick
-Neil Gaiman
-H.P. Lovecraft
-Terry Pratchett
-Jules Verne
-’Bunnicula’ - Steve & Deborah Howe
-‘Captain Blood’ - Rafael Sabatini
-’Cows’ - Matthew Stokoe
-‘Dracula’ - Bram Stoker
-‘Frankenstein’ - Mary Shelley
-’On Stranger Tides’ - Tim Powers
-‘The Time Machine’ - H.G. Wells
-‘Treasure Island’ - Robert Louis Stevenson
-…and a few other classic gothic novels I read in high school and subsequently forgot.
I don’t read many comics, but when I do, they’re mostly offbeat, independent alternative ones.
: -Roman Dirge (‘Lenore)
-Neil Gaiman (‘Sandman’)
-Edward Gorey
-James O’Barr (‘The Crow’)
-Jeff Smith (‘Bone’)
-Serena Valentino (Gloomcookie’, ‘Nightmares & Fairytales’)
-Jhonen Vasquez (‘I Feel Sick)

Heroes:

I admire creativy; the sort of ground-breaking creativity that comes from being a little bit 'different', if not downright insane, be it for science, for art, or for just pure sensationalism:
-Robert L. Ripley
-P.T. Barnum
-William Castle
-Roger Corman
-David Lynch
-Rand & Robyn Miller
-Shigeru Miyamoto
-Tim Schafer, Ron Gilbert & Dave Grossman
-Warren Spector
-Jules Verne
-Andy Warhol
-John Waters
-Ed Wood, Jr.
