50% of this lo-fi pop duo hails from New York (Venturella) while the remainder grew up in Toronto (Wolkoff). Today, Leopoldine, named after a notorious Parisian scenester, finds its headquarters in Brooklyn, where an album has been taking form since June, 2007. What might come across as melancholy, whist and cautious optimism in Wolkoff's lyrics and Venturella's instrumental stylings is resolved in the band's jocular wit and musical humility. You can catch the two on tour this winter at flatware museums and live poultry vendors' warehouses throughout Woodside and Bushwick.
