Counterpart

Born and bred in Adelaide Chris Pfeiffer aka Counterpart, had his first taste of ‘techno’ after stumbling across the radio show Dreaming Daisies on what was then known as 3D radio in the early nineties. It wasn’t until he was introduced to the German pioneers Kraftwerk, that he decided that this electronic art form was something he could sink his teeth into. In 1996 he armed himself with Roland 303 and has never looked back. Since then he has produced over 60 tracks, and has expanded his studio enormously. 2000 saw the completion of his first full album, Evolution, a soundscape of mashed-up samples and hard hitting beats that has been compared to the likes of the Prodigy.His tasted are wide and varied. Onlookers will notice influences from death metal to jazz and anything in between. His love of music and the search for a fresh sound, has led him down many paths towards gratification. It’s taken 11 years of dedication to finding the right sound, something that it is noticed and praised for standing out from the crowd.
