Back before Larry wrote "Son of the New South" with Travis Tritt, and "Americana" recorded by Moe Bandy on Curb Records, became the first Country Radio hit written by Larry Alderman and "Real Good Feel Good Song" by Mel Mcdaniel was one of the first number 1 videos on CMT.... Larry started writing short stories and camping in the mountains as a kid in the 7th grade. One day while at a friends house he picked up a guitar and immediatley wanted one. His family didn't take him serious, so he took a piece of plywood and put nails at the top and bottom and stretched 4 springs from a toy American Eagle drum, across it and banged on it constantly, soon after He got his first $14.00 Aldens guitar at 13 years old and started writing songs also. The passions of his life are still the outdoors wilderness the quitar and writing til this day. He signed his first writing contract as an exclusive writer at the age of 18 years old with Sure-Fire Music owned by the Grand Ole Opry stars the Wilburn Brothers, Leslie Wilburn ran the Publishing company and signed him. Larry enlisted in the Army during Nam and signed the contract while overseas. Larry met and married a green eyed beauty named Lari who believed in him before there was any success, when it was peanut butter and bread and counting pennies, and believes still!!, after 35 years of marriage! He came to Nashville in 1980 after paying dues out on the road with band members that later were Confederate Railroad on Atlantic Records. The talented writer was signed by Loretta Lynn's company and went on to have records on Travis Tritt, Hank Jr. Loretta Lynn, George Jones, Moe Bandy, Mel McDaniels, John Michael Montgomery and many more. Since coming to Nashville, Larry has written for some of the top publishing companies, including, Loretta Lynn Enterprises, Sony Tree, Accuf-Rose, Curb, Tom Collins, Keith Stegall(Alan Jackson's producer)and has his own company, Aldersong Publishing (a name he once painted on the door to his room as a kid at home). Larry recounted his first big name to release his material,"The first big name that ever released one of my songs was not a recording artist, but a legendary race car driver..Dale Earnhardt Sr! I wrote a song called "Hard Charger" and he recorded it on a Nascar country album set in 1985. I met Dale at Bristol that year, that was a high point in my career!" He was signed first by Loretta Lynn, a great supporter and friend. Larry had a hit counry song called "Americana" recorded by Moe Bandy in 1988 that was then picked up by a President of the United States for his campaign theme song!! Americana was nominated for CMA Song of the Year!! A great honor!!! I got to meet George Jones and watch him record a song of mine in the studio!! I'm not done yet! New singles are coming out and have hit written all over them." Larry loves the wilderness and thru a friend and co-writer Harvey Mcnalley of Alberta, Canada has gone to camp in north Alberta several years in a row. The bear camp is near the border of Saskatchewan. Pure heaven on earth. The lakes are glacier made and pure! Another camp is in the Birch Mountains in western Alberta. This is the moose camp. Larry first heard the wolves and lived in a tent for 14 days!Generate your own contact table!
