About Me

Since 1998, Dan Wilcox has done hundreds of performances as turntablist, vocalist and producer under the guises of SWEEP,Soul9, Sooty and as a member of various bands.He also makes really really stupendously good fairtrade coffee at Peoples Coffee in Wellington, Aotearoa : )In 2007, Sweep released the debut album 'Geminisation' which was received well with radio playlistings and good dodgy bootleg sales in the hood : )2008 marks a new step in Sweeps development with the bootleg release of 'The Love Album'; an album exploring the realms of trip-hop, dubstep, electro and D'n'B....New tunes coming out on the "Step In Time"album (yet to be signed... any takers???)Sweep has played alongside, with, before and after acts such as Pacific Bass Culture, Fat Freddy's Drop, Shapeshifter, Katchafire, The Black Seeds, Holly Smith, Concord Dawn, Derrick May, Opensouls, Sage Francis, Olmecha Supreme, The Beat, The Specials, The Upbeats, Kora, Recloose Live Band, Hayseed Dixie, Cannibal Corpse, The Mint Chicks, So So Modern...Sweep plays host on several shows on capital city radio station Radio@ctive89fm, (the local boombox for over thirty years); NITE MOVES - Sundays 7pm-9pm NZ (fortnightly rotation) THE HOPE BROTHERS NZ MUSIC SHOW - Tuesdays 7pm-9pm NZ (monthly rotation) HOMEBASS - Thursdays 11pm-1am NZ (6weekly rotation)www.radioactive.co.nzFor bookings or info, email; [email protected] AROHANUI, BIG LOVE!
