ANGE E. CURCIO was born in 1971 in Calabria, Italy and raised in Torino.
At the early age of five, his first introduction to music was banging on pots and pans in the family kitchen. Much to the chagrin of his family who believed this would keep him occupied. This introduction nevertheless was instrumental in leading Ange on his way to a great career and to develop a deep love of music. A year later, Ange and his family left Italy and moved to Montreal, Quebec. A city that is as vibrant as the music inside of him.
Ange worked hard, practiced and at the age of 15, played his first professional gig. Ange paid his dues playing the usual bar gigs in small local bands around town, evolving into a versatile drummer, not only with great showmanship on stage but equally adaptive in the recording studio as well. While developing his trademark sound and groove, Ange has developed such a diverse style as a drummer that has brought him numerous accolades from his peers and fellow-artists. Where he has earned a solid reputation for delivering the goods at every show and has been actively involved in any recording session that he has been a part of.
Ange has toured Canada, the United States, Japan and Europe, backing international recording artists such as Saints and Sinners, Corey Hart, Jonas, as well as Québec's international platinum recording stars Michel Pagliaro and Éric Lapointe with whom he received several Felix Awards, including the award for Best Show 2000. At an International Microsoft Convention, Ange was invited to perform a special drum solo for Bill Gates. He also landed a role in the movie Les Dangereux as the drummer in the lead character's band and took home the New Discovery Felix Award 2002 with B.E.A.T.
Ange has shared the stage with many artists such as Tony Levin, Florent Pagny, Mélanie Renaud, Andrée Walters, Martin Deschamps, Walter Rossi, Seamour Duncan, Kevin Parent, Daniel Boucher, Dan Bigras, Laurence Jalbert, Nanette Workman, Jimmy James, Patrick Bourgois, Robert Dethier, Garou and Flo Mounier.
Never content to stay home and smell the roses, Ange joined band after band jamming and performing with other young musicians honing his craft and perfecting his rhythms.
It's rare to find a person with such a varied background, who has and will continue to deliver a significant contribution to Rock and Roll, day after day!
