About Me

Where were you that day?
You remember, the day everything changed. On September 10 things were a certain way and by September 12 everything was different. We all know why now. We know now that terrorists hijacked four jet airliners, destroyed the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center with the first two, crashed into the Pentagon with the third, and that the fourth plunged into a Pennsylvania field when the passengers and crew heroically attempted to regain control. We know that 2996 people lost their lives that day, including 409 heroes of the FDNY, NYPD, NY/NJ Port Authority, and other 911 agencies. We know all of these things now, but we didn't know them then.
No, then we only knew we were under attack. We didn't know who was attacking us or how big the attack was. We only knew what we were seeing and hearing, thinking and feeling... and where we were when we were experiencing those things.
"September Morning" is a memorial song that attempts in a small way to preserve the memory of September 11, 2001. It renders an account of that day while praying for the many victims and valiant heroes. It was written within days of the attacks, when the event still seemed like some cruel nightmare that we just couldn't wake up from. The cruelest part of it all was that it was real.
Remember where you were that day? Feel free to leave a message or comment about it if you like. Where you were that day when you heard the news was the point at which you first connected to the tragedy.
It was the place where the world started to change.
And in this changed world, September 11 is a Day of Heroes.
