About Me

leisureland are the multi talented music duo/production team of David Brewis and Dean Newsome.
David is a former producer of Prefab Sprout, as well as a guitarist on many of their albums. He was also a founder member of the Kane Gang, co-writing all of their material.
Dean, a well respected-singer and re-mixer, was one of the founder members of Northern cult funk collective Minitonka.
Named after a 70s retail park in Sunderland, where the pair used to buy Bootsy Collins LPs from the bargain bin, Leisureland originally formed to create modern soul/funk but were diverted by being commissioned to write material for boy bands - however it wasn’t long before their creative instincts got back on track.
They have since concentrated their efforts on creating music they describe as "Sometimes challenging, sometimes easy but always considered".
