Astra

About Me

Beginning in 1999, Astra played original music for people who appreciated original music. Through one line-up change and nearly 7 years of writing and experimenting, Astra became a punk rock powerhouse. Mixing modern alternative rock, a touch of 90's grunge, and a whole lot of new-school and old-school punk rock, Astra constantly evolved. Hard-hitting heart-pounding drums, unique and precise bass, gritty stripped down guitar, and honest lyrics sung with absolute ferocity were the foundations that the band was built upon. Playing all over Michigan with the likes of The Mongrels, and Somewhere Safe, Astra developed a distinctive sound that couldn't help but be listened to and ultimately would draw you into the fold. Astra came to an end December 31st, 2005 at White's Bar as they played a fairwell show to a packed house. They say if you listen, you can still hear the applause...
