JENAE IS GETTING READY FOR THE WEEKEND

Everyday I talk to individuals thinking about going back to school. I inform these individuals of their options. I preach to them how a quality education will benefit there lives. Still, I can hear the hesitation in their voices. They ponder the idea and I may win some and still lose others. These people I'm referring too have been greatly affected by the decline in our economy. Half of which are jobless and literally have no options. I hear their stories and listen. They once had a job and made decent money. Now, these people have been laid off or fired. The only thing they have is a high school diploma and work experience. They cannot get a job of equal or more pay because they don't have a college education. Yet they hesitate because the cost of a quality education is so expensive.... Why??? This is the question I keep asking myself over and over again. Our government has created financial aid to help assist individuals who never saved for college. Yet people assume they can go to school for free. I guess I don't understand. One's education is an investment. It saddens me because right now is the best time for anyone to continue their education. The economy is down, unemployment is at an all time high, and the job market is so competitive. Why not take advantage of these things..... Meaning, why can't individuals realize right now is the best time to go back and start or finish school. At some point the economy will improve. Individuals taking advantage of this slow trend will flourish in the end. These individuals will be a head of the game. They will have a degree and new skills to offer employers' desperately seeking qualified and educated individuals in America's ever changing job market.
