ALI BISHOP

Ali Bishop is an entertainer all unto himself. MC, instrumentalist, even quasi-dancer, he definitely doesn't fit into the neatly defined categories of hip-hop. He raps how he wants, plays what he wants, and his only goal is honest expression; nothing more-nothing less. He is a student of music starting from the Blues and extending through to modern popular music. Each of his songs represent an aspect of his personality. Ali Bishop wrote "The Big Hit", and "Lady" as songs to express his more light hearted, less serious side. These club bangers are meant for the weekend crowd that is just looking to have a good time and forget the worries of the week.

"The Big Hit" is the embodiment of Bishop's night out with the fellas. Having fun, wiling out, and enjoying the night is the basis of the song. The spirit of the song is enforced by the driving thump and and kick found in the song's instrumentation.

"Lady" is the flip side of that same spirit. However, while "The Big Hit" is about hanging with your boyz, "Lady" is a song directed to, and written for that woman that catches your eye when you're out on the town. The playful flirtation of the song is swept up in the R&B groove that sets the atmosphere in just the right way for all the players and ballers to make their move. For all those who wanted to step to that dimepiece at the club, but didn't know when to make that move, this is the song is for you.

Bishop's love for the old school is evident in "Street Blues". This song is his homage to the blues. This song has a solid foundation in the blues style but still maintains elements of hip-hop which are laced throughout the song. It's the blues…from a hip-hop perspective.
