Michele Brustia, composer and producer of Rock, Dance and Electronic Music, was born in Milan and has been working with music since 1993, when he started his musical career as bass player of THY NATURE, together with Patrick Graziosi (guitars) and Oinos (drums), releasing the MCD "GLACIAL" on Nosferatu Records in 1994.
The late 90’s saw him involved in deep experimentation and musical research, as well as being influenced by many of the most talented musicians in Milan and North of Italy. In 1999 he was given the task to produce (and also play Bass) the debut album “Art Bleeds†from death metallers GORY BLISTER, and since then producing music into the studio has been the main goal in Michele’s professional career.
He moved into electronic and dance music in 1998 when he started working with producer Morris Capaldi. This new joint venture delivered its results very quickly as one of their first international hits was released in 2000 by New Music International: MADRAS, Woodorave. After getting very good results in Italy, being highly played from October 2000 to May 2001, it also got very good results abroad, licensed in France, G.A.S., Benelux, Scandinavia, Canada and Brazil, reaching the highest positions in the club charts and being enclosed in more than 20 compilations.
The success of this tune gave Michele high visibility in the dance scene as both a producer and a re-mixer: in the years 2000- 2002, always with Morris Capaldi, Michele remixed, arranged or released more than 10 different projects under different names (M.A.D.R.A.S., Raveplay, Degauss, Labelle, Roberta Childs, Lady Violet etc).
In August 2004, he moved again towards new sonic territories producing and mixing KALIDON, a gothic rock band with electronic influences. The fine production and the subsequent release of the video track “Revenant†captured the interest of Eagle Star Pictures, which decides to distribute the work “Songs for the Revenant†together with the Italian DVD release of “The Exorcist – The Return†throughout the whole Italian market. (More details about this release and samples are available at www.kalidon.it.)
In 2005, after 3 years in Dublin, he relocated to Copenhagen where he finally settled down. Between 2006 and 2008 Michele has mixed and programmed for several acts and published different projects and remixes under the nickname AMBIGUA. He is also working on production for the talented artist and composer Ingrid Hagel, check out myspace.com/ingridhagel for audio samples!
With a new cutting edge studio up and running in Copenhagen, Michele is ready to kickstart PROOFSOUND, a new exciting company established with business partner Paul Bjørling.
