Founded in Boulder in January 2002 by Sarah Leversee, Art as Action is a grass roots movement of artists and activists who believe art is an extraordinary way to inspire and bring people together to create social change.
The collaborative performances that we produce are composed of original pieces connected through a common theme and created by a diverse group of artists. Art as Action is comprised of members of various art communities including dance, circus arts, music, film, poetry, visual art and aerial dance. Art as Action productions are a collage of diverse art genres, backgrounds and ideas.
We give artists the opportunity to collaborate and break down the boundaries between art genres which leads to high quality, intensely creative and powerful productions.
