why do i care so much? why am i so preoccupied with asserting the tenuous sense of my own identity i have via the spurious and specious conduit that is myspace? well, truth be told, i am, so here it goes. as proust would have inquired of me: i perceive the lowest depth of misery to be undifferentiatedness. my idea of earthly happiness is the perfect sentence. the faults in which i am most indulgent are cigarettes, lunatic malingering, abjection, conflict, and being non-plused. my favourite heroes of fiction are Mephistopheles and the anti-hero (ie hazel motes). my favourite characters of history are Gilles de Rais and Caligula my favourite painters are Jennifer Bartlett, Francis Bacon, Max Ernst, Cezanne, Picabia, Vija Celmins, twombly. the qualities i most admire in a man are gentle ambition, devotion, vulnerability, wit, style, and personal hygiene. in a woman: work ethic and conviction. my favourite virtues are wit, the ability to resist, and loyalty. my favourite vices are getting away with murder, getting away with altruism. my favourite occupations are writing, having faith in my perception of reality. my principle defects are self-doubt, truculence and a smoker's cough. i would like to have been the love child of james joyce and my mother. my favourite poets are T.S.
