Music is funny to me because I've heard almost every good piece of music that I will ever hear. Some more artistic than others but equally credible, and as I get older I find myself mellowing out a lot. I used to listen to STP and Pearl Jam and all the 90's alternative music and sometimes still do. I grew up listening to Nas and Biggie and Pac, and 90's R&B and sometimes, still do. But I've gotten to a point where I don't want to over think it anymore, I don't want to hear a political view and so on, I just want to enjoy listening. I'm developing an interest in jazz. Miles Davis 'Kinda Blue' album is the best I've heard so far, I like it a lot. I was raised on Motown/Soul by my father and jazz almost gives you the same feel, but you know you're trying something different and I like that. Even with rock now, I listen to more Nickelback type stuff. Everybody talks about what's mainstream, what's keeping it real, or what's good or bad. With me, all I want is something with a positive but enjoyable sound, no drug ridden lyrics or anything too negative. I don't need an over analyzed piece of music or lyrics to understand our world is sad.
