JK - Tribute to the Scandinavian metal scene

I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm a young man, 20 years old, who live in Denmark. I'm about to study at RUC (Roskilde University Centre). After about 5-6 years I will probably work as a psychologist, a supervisor in the line of occupation in general. I have always taken an interest in the mental life of us all. This is why I'm wrapped up in everything that has to do with psychology and philosophy. I want to do a difference for people with problems and difficulties and try to develop people's self-perception once I have graduated. Beyond this I play the guitar and have done that for over 7 years. I have taken music lessons for a couple of years but the last couple of years I have focused on shred and metal lead. What got me into metal was pretty much Papa Roach and the song "Last Resort" because of the guitar riff. A friend introduced me to a metal band with an opera singer as front figure - Nightwish. I was blown away and started to search for similar band and genres. Kamelot (progressive power metal band) was definetely a band with talented guys and an educated singer, which caught my attention. As I saw the lyrics in their booklets and heard them, I knew my century of metal had come. With Kamelot as a catalyst, I've now been playing everything that has to do with power and progressive metal for a couple of years. During my musical development I have played in three different bands and performed shows different places in Denmark. At this day I only compose and play different works of music inspired by progressive metal with baroque and classical influences. Furthermore I am on the committee of an association dealing with culture-related events. Specifically I'm co-ordinator of the practice room and band co-ordinator at RUC, where I take care of amplification etc. and seek to make up music-related events.I'm very fascinated by the constitution of how music corresponds to the consciousness, how music forms your identity and what you think of the music you are hearing and how you are using it. I have always been using music as a source to free my mind and to take a step aside from the surrounding world. The inner life of ourselves expresses itself in music because a suspension of our concrete outher world happens. In the musical domain, that is where life is completed. This is where you will learn more about sensations of the self. Judge music and you will judge yourself! Judge yourself and you have judged your own personality according to the music you want to hear. I believe that music reflects the personality of us as listeners. Everyone relates and are able to relate to music even though it sometimes may provoke intense emotional connection, which of course shouldn't always be ascribed as negative.
