The Refinery

About Me

The Refinery is not just a church service, but a community for people who'd like to do something instead of just sitting there. We believe in inspiring personal and societal change through the word of God and prayer. At The Refinery we experience worship rather than just sitting through it - this service is for people who are interested in a more creative, artistic approach to the worship of the Creator of the Universe and who are interested in promoting social justice and change. Our service is organic and changes from week to week based on the topic of discussion. There is usually music, a sermon, small group discussion, and other stuff an order that fits what we're trying to accomplish. We're here to learn and apply our learning to our lives.

The Refinery is a part of the First Saints Covenant Community of St. Mary's County, Maryland. Our service meets at the Leonardtown Campus (aka St. Paul's UMC) next to the hospital on Route 5. This service happens at 6 PM every Sunday night and lasts until approximately 7:15 PM.
