Philipp picked up the guitar in 1987 after becoming bored with piano lessons that didn't turn out to be useful for playning heavy metal. The first musical efforts with the new instrument naturally became something in the line of punk rock.
Significant changes occured after meeting Markus Reuter in 1993 and getting into contact with Guitar Craft.
Philipp has been working with Markus mainly on his solo stuff in recent years.
