"TEARS TO DUBLIN" THE ERIN CHRONICLES

There is a world of love and light
Beyond these doors of heartache and strife
Where I am free to life with peace
Of independent thought, not always aiming to please
Where I may sleep peacefully beneath my sheets
Where I will be loved and treated well
Not ensconced in my tiny shell
Where I can voice my pride in thee
My family of Irish ancestry – from Tears to Dublin

Atlanta, Ga. – Follow two Irish sisters through the pages of time as they struggle to overcome life’s obstacles to achieve their dreams in the new novel by Marcie Caudell, Tears to Dublin: The Erin Chronicles (published by AuthorHouse).
Tears to Dublin is a labyrinth of emotion about the growth and transformation of Erin and Bonnie Morgan. It begins in Georgia in the 1890s as the South continues to heal from the devastation of the Civil War. Irish immigrants, meanwhile, are flooding in, searching for a better life and equality in a foreign land.
The young Morgan sisters must say goodbye to their father. As their futures hang in the balance, the girls find themselves thrust into a melting pot of deception and betrayal, and they learn to trust no one. As the years progress, events propel the sisters’ lives into a chaos they may or may not overcome.
While the sisters are bonded by blood and circumstance, they are very different. Bonnie is unfeeling, cold, callous and refuses to allow anyone in. Erin is a survivor, dreamy, poetic, rebellious and very proud of her Irish heritage.
A secret leads young Erin to explode with a fury no one realized she possessed. It is a moment she regrets. As a young woman, Erin finds that she has an independent passion about her beliefs and the confidence to make her life more meaningful, even if the world around her doesn’t agree. She learns that forgiveness may be a remedy, but to forget is impossible. The yearning she feels for the homeland of her parents leads her to a surprising fate.
Marcie Caudell is an advocate for many causes in Ireland and around the world. Tears to Dublin is her first novel, and she is currently working on the next book in The Erin Chronicles.

THE NORTHEAST GEORGIAN
April 14, 2008Author Celebrates Irish, Northeast Georgia Roots.
By Kimberly BrownMarcie Caudell of Cleveland has deep roots-deep in Northeast Georgia and deep in ancestors’ home of Ireland.
Caudell, 37 has written her first novel, “Tearsto Dublin†The Erin Chronicles,†about a young woman named Erin Morgan who begins her life in 1890 in Northeast Georgia. Through a difficult childhood, lost love and betrayal, Erin learns about life and what it means to be of Irish Descent.
Caudell, has been writing since the age of twelve years old.
“Tears to Dublin is her first book, and she says she has plans for a four book series. Because she had young children, she says, the first book took years to write.†I had started the series several times in my twenties, but because my children were little I never finished themâ€, she says,†There are things in life you want to do, but the rights time in life has to come along’.
Now Caudell has more time to devote to her writing.
The writing of “Tears to Dublin†was a cleansing process, Caudell says.
Her Mother and Her sister were killed by a drunk driver in 1971. The following year, her father, Jackie who was a partner in C.L. Pless Grassing Company died of a heart attack.. Like Young Erin Morgan, Caudell lived with her paternal grandparent after her parents death.
Though she was very little, the death of her parents effected her life tremendously. “From personal experience I can tell you it is better to keep the memory of parents alive for the child than to act as though it is something you don’t speak of. It hurts the child that needs to ask things worse than it hurts the adult being asked the question.â€
Caudell, who grew up in White County, says she was most inspired to write by two of her teachers: her third-grade teacher ms. Willie Mae Humphries and Betty Highsmith, her eighth grade History teacher. “I wanted to be {Highsmith},’ I wanted to teach History. She really opened my eyes to the world and what I could find through History. I could travel the world through History books. It fostered a love for History, that I’ll keep the rest of my life.â€
Her love of History includes her passion of Irish History and her own genealogy. “I have a passion for my Irish roots and History.: she says.
“I have family members who suffered through the troubles in Irelandâ€.
“Tears to Dublin†is a book aimed at ‘college aged women going through transitions themselves in finding their own path in life, and anyone born of Irish roots,†Caudell says.
The book is about Irish Pride and what was happened in Ireland after the American Civil War. The series is planned to go through 1996 Northern Ireland, Caudell says.
“These books takes characters and places them side by side with real figures
of Irish History.†She says, you’ll be reading {the characters} perception of what’s going on. A lot of people have the misconception that everyone who fought for the freedom of Ireland is a terrorist. That is so not true,â€
Caudell is already hard at work on the second and third books in the series.
The second book she says. “blows “Tears to Dublin†out of the water.â€
Caudell published “Tears to Dublin†through AuthorHouse, but she hopes to be picked up by a traditional publisher.
Caudell is planning a book signing on Saturday, May 10th at the White County Library, 60 Bell Street, Cleveland, from 1-7 pm.
