Joie Scott

About Me

Joie Scott is a number one international hit songwriter. She was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Not long after graduating college she landed a copy-writing position at one of the world¹s largest advertising agencies, Leo Burnett. She ultimately became responsible for writing commercial television, radio and print copy, and producing music for national accounts including McDonalds, Kellogg, Nestles and United Airlines.
After 8 years at Leo Burnett Joie left to pursue her dream of becoming a songwriter. In the early 90's, lured by Country music's respect for lyric and melody, Joie began commuting between Chicago and Nashville for writing trips. Not long after, she was signed to the publishing company of legendary songwriter Paul Craft and landed her first cut with the well-known cowboy trio Riders In The Sky. From there she was signed to Balmur Entertainment where she experienced tremendous success including the number 1 Collin Raye hit, Not That Different. Not That Different also became a number 1 video and an international hit covered by five different artists.
In 2001 Joie and her husband, retired school principal Avi Poster, moved to Nashville where they currently reside. Joie now writes for her own publishing company. Joie and her husband Avi are very involved in many of Nashville's charity and non profit organizations.
