A Girl Named Earl

About Me

A Girl Named Earl is a project involving a girl and some original folk songs played on a lap dulcimer. All vocal and dulcimer tracks on the CD, "Songs From the Breezeway", are by A Girl Named Earl- with the exception of 2 songs where lead vocals are performed by Ruth Reed. When playing out, A Girl Named Earl is sometimes solo, sometimes with other vocalists (Ruth, Jenrose) and sometimes with a little distortion.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: A Girl Named Earl- dulcimer and vocals sometimes accompanied by Ruth Reed or Jenrose Fitzgerald for vocals
Influences: Old folk songs my parents used to sing and play, plus stuff like Carter Family, Doc Watson Family, stuff like that. Anyone I ever heard playing old-timey folk or bluegrass style music with close harmonies has influenced me. I like it fairly simple, but effective.
Sounds Like: A bunch of sad songs, most with close harmonies, with a little dab of an old-timey folk sound thrown in there.
Record Label: Unsigned
