Tokyo, Japan. Coaltar of the Deepers music cannot be narrowed down to a few influences and styles since their music is widely varied and truly experimental. Some might hear early 90's UK Shoegaze influence, Hardcore thrash metal, to ambient electronic, to Spanish jazz (in some examples, all in one song).Forming in the spring of 1991 by members Narasaki (guitar, vocals, programming), Kanno (drums), and Yoshio (Bass guitar). There have been other members of the band (Kawanaka-Bass, Koji-Guitar, Ichimaki- vocals, guitar) that have come and gone throughout COTD 16 years.The music of COTD varies per album. Some album concepts are more Thrash Metal, with the inclusion of noise-pop's signature dreamy swirling guitars, to mixtures of jazzy interludes within some of COTD more heavier musical arrangements.
