Sean Michael Philbin

About Me

Through immersion in a rich and varied stylistic milieu (Bruce Springsteen, The Eagles, John Hiatt, Bob Dylan and Steve Earle just to name just a few), Sean Philbin has emerged with a sound uniquely his own, and an appeal that is anything but narrow. Sean Philbin was born and raised in Seattle Washington. Growing up his first Rock-N-Roll experience was at his Grandmother's house at around 9 years old for the holidays listening to an 8 track tape of Elvis's Jailhouse Rock, "It was the sound of it that got to me, the freedom in it" Sean says. Having grown up with a older sister that introduced him to The Beatles as well as so much other classic rock music, the artistic side of Sean Philbin was born. Sean formed a rock band at 16 years old playing guitar and was gigging professionally at 18 in Seattle. The band he formed became one of Seattle's foremost "underground" bands called Epiphany which enjoyed a cult fan base in the northwest. Sean eventually struck out on his own and formed The Sean Philbin Band. Sean has toured the world performing his music, including Australia and even South America, Sean has opened for Bob Dylan, Delbert McCLinton and LeRoy Parnell as well as headlining many large clubs in the Northwest and West Coast. All things come to an end and when things in Seattle did, Sean took the opportunity to continue following his passion of performing and songwriting which eventually lead him to Nashville in 2006.
