Grinding Reaction

Grinding Reaction was created in 2000 in the city of Diadema, located in the region of ABCD in São Paulo state and contains the following members: Leandro (drums), Renato (bass), Hugo (electric guitar) and J.M. (vocals). Two pieces of work have been launched with these members: Grinding Reaction (demo-tape) and Oppression, Negligence, Tears and Blood (CD/EP). In 2001, a demo-tape entitled “Grinding Reaction” was recorded, consisting of five lyrics composed: You Don’t Care, Nazi Bastards, Impunity, Fuck The Rules and Violence. These songs have presented a strong influence of Hardcore (Old and New School) and Metal. The subject matter of the lyrics demonstrates a concern about the incoherent organization of the current human society. During the spread process of the demo-tape, it may be highlited: the broadcast of the song You don’t care on the radio program “ A vez do Brasil”, of the extinct 89,1 FM, “ A rádio rock” in São Paulo and its memberships as well as the broadcast of the song Nazi bastards on Viriato FM 102,8, which reaches the central region and the countryside of Portugal, on the radio program “Círculo de Fogo”. Besides those, two concerts in the state of Minas Gerais with the Canadian band Figure Four and two concerts with the “paulista” band Imminent Chaos in the state of Rio de Janeiro were performed. In June, 2004, the CD/EP “Oppression, Negligence, Tears and Blood” was launched, also consisting of five lyrics composed: Culture Of Terror, Rise, Prostituição Infantil, Sindicato do Crime and Last Genocide. In general, the songs have expressed reflections of the band on the Brazilian and the world social and political context. Through a musical point of view, it was possible to realize a great technical maturity of the musicians and a bigger influence of Trash Metal on the composing of lyrics. During the spread of this work, the concerts with the bands CAD (Slovenia) and Bitume (Germany) have been pointed out, as well as contacts towards magazines as “Rock Brigade” and also “fanzines and webzines”. There has also been a marketing work with radio stations, through the broadcast of the song “Rise”, on the radio program “Círculo de Fogo”, on Viriato FM in Portugal and the distribution of this material in Brazil and in countries, such as, Chile, Argentina, Peru, USA, Ukraine, Russia and Portugal, counting on the support of small suppliers and seals. The response of the public and recognition by the the most diverse kinds of media, through interviews and summaries, have certified the good quality of this work. In 2005, our band underwent its first change in the members, having André and Gustavo as guitar players and Leandro, Renato and J.M. remained. Having these members, in 2006, we participated in the pilot record of the university TV production 360 degrees, speciaized in extreme sports, and on which we were interviewed and recorded the song “Rise” live. At the beginning of 2007, G.R. underwent the third change in the members, Gustavo left and Dionne became one of the guitar players. Despite the changes, the new members have brought other influences and a heavier sound to the band. Grinding Reaction’s new project is play a lot these times and start the record of our first “full disc” by the middle of 2008.
