Hello I'm Queen Elizabeth I(aka Gloriana). I was born on September 7,1533 and I am the daughter of Anne Boleyn and HenryVIII. My sister is Mary I and my brother's name is Edward VI.I am the only surviving child of my mother and father. My childhood was rough but it all paid out in the end. After my father executed my mother, he married four other women, Jane Seymor9mother of Edward), Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard ,and Catherine Parr. As a child I had a great education ,being taught from some of the most famous scholars William Grindal and Roger Asham. I loved learning new languages from all different countries and when I reached adulthood I could fluently speak 5 languages. In 1547 my father died leaving Edward next up, Mary after Edward. Edward was too young(9) and was kidnapped by Thomas Seymour. Edward got very ill from a disease and died. Edward deceased made Mary, queen and me second in line to throne. While Mary was queen I was kept captive in a tower for two months and then removed to Woodstock Manor in Oxfordshire for a whole entire year. Iwas to be kept captive because anyone next in line for power would have loved to execute me. Eventually Mary died and now I am the queen of England and Ireland. I never want to get married (even though I am "Under Pressure" from my family)because I don't want to lose my power that took so long to get. I reigned from 1558-1603. I officially became queen on January 15,1559. As I told you before I grew up as a Protestant. But later on I 'converted' to Catholicism when it became the law of the land. I remained Protestant but sometimes I would pray. As a queen I strengthened England's economic and political power and restored my country's sense of national pride. Throughout my reign there was many ups and downs, but in the end I ended up being one of England's strongest and most admired rulers. One of my first acts was to reestablish the Protestant Religion,called the Acts of Supremacy and Uniformity. The measures against the Roman Catholics grew harsher over the course of my reign. The Catholics were persecuted which lead to a series of plots to murder me and put Mary Queen of Scots on to throne. After Mary died she was queen for a short period of time. I quickly gained my power back and held her as a prisoner for 19 years. Eventually I signed a treaty stating that Mary was to be executed. I signed other treaties such as the Treaty of Edinburgh,The Treaty of Cateau-Cambresis,Council of Trent session III(secret), and the Treaty of Richmond. But one of my most important event was the defeat of the Spanish Armada which stopped all attacks from Spain to England.
