Review from Jazzflits .
Conspiracy Theories features one of the best (and the largest) line-ups Phil Miller has so far come up with. This time, the band hero is undoubtedly bass player Fred Baker, whose colourful and virtuoso lines clearly constitute the driving force behind this record. His Pastorius-like contributions to “Flashpoint†are one of the highlights of the CD. His own ballad is typical of Canterbury jazz with lots numerous and unexpected changes in tempo and intricate melodic lines that result in pure and inviting soundscapes.
