The Bio:
Devil Fish is an aquatic entity consisting of Adam Barry and Phelan Kane.
Phelan Kane has been producing, writing, programming and engineering for years. He is occasionally allowed outside of the studio where he has worked with clients as diverse as Placebo, Radiohead, Fad Gadget, Rob Mello, Fun-da-mental, The Baby Shambles, Alabama 3, Dido and Snow Patrol.
Adam decided at age 7 that he was not going to be in St. Patrick's Cathedral Choir because he couldn't face getting up early in the morning. Playing bass for the band Tripswitch (formerly My Little Funhouse), led to the decks in his late teens, and eventually production. He has DJ’d alongside Andy Smith (Portishead), Freq Nasty, Adam Freeland, Bentley Rhythm Ace, Freddie Fresh, DJ SS and The Scratch Perverts and been seen playing bass for 'Les Hommes du Train'. He’s dropped DJ sets at The Roundhouse, 333, 93 Feet East, Cargo, The NFT, Latitude Festival, Market Place, the Homelands Festival and the Witness Festival.
The boys joined forces in early 2007 and created the genre straddling, acidic monster that is Devil Fish. The sound features influences ranging from Electro, Acid House, Breaks, Dubstep and Downtempo. They ventured out of the studio for their debut live performance for Noise of Art at The Social in June 07 and have since played live/laptop sets at The Roundhouse (Camden), Komedia (Brighton), The Big Chill House (King’s X), Bar Music Hall (Shoreditch) and Cybersonica (Shoreditch). They are currently in rehearsals with a full live band preparing to drop a rocking but logistically mind-boggling show…
They are building up an impressive reputation as remixers, having torn apart and reassembled The Duke Spirit, This Et Al, Samsa and Lights, Action! so far. Look out for forthcoming remixes of Punx Soundcheck and Punks Jump Up.
