Broke-N-Beats

About Me

Broke-N-Beats started in 2001 at the infamous Zen Nightclub (previously the Underground Café in Kings Cross) with djs such as Kid Kenobi, Q45, Elroy, the Jackal & Abel to name a few it quickly established a solid reputation for playing upfront, quality funky and bassline breakbeat delivered raw and off the cuff. Jump forward to 2003, Broke-N-Beats relocated to the 2nd Room at KINK @ the Arthouse, ramming in the crowds every week for over 4 years. In July 2007 Broke-N-Beats moved away from Kink to the Civic Hotel to bring the breaks to a new level in their own stand alone venue. Closing down at the Civic in Sept 2008 Broke-N-Beats will be back in some way shape or form in the future so keep your eyes on this space for future events and collaborations.
Many Internationals have graced the hallowed Broke-N-Beats decks including DJ Hyper, 10-Sui, Atomic Hooligan, General Midi, Stereo 8, Deejay Punk Rock, Moguai, Evil 9, John Stapleton, SOTO, Deekline & Wizard, Timmy Schumacher and Easy B (Vinyl Addiction UK) as well as hosting the Ministry of Sound Breaks CD Launches with Kid Kenobi & MC Shueshock whereby taking over the main room of KINK and rocking out to sellout capacity crowds. This along with a solid rotation of Sydney's & Australia's Finest Breaks Djs and Producers which include The Jackal, Frenzie, Smithmonger, Klaus“Heavyweight”Hill & MC Losty, Defcon1, Elroy & Tom Piper, James Taylor, Dopamine, BassKleph, Nick Thayer, Sharif Galal (Triple J), Q45, Auxilary (Nutshell Newcastle/Shopliftaz) and many more.
Broke-N-Beats was the longest standing weekly breaks night.
RIP SYDNEY BREAKS
