I hate bios... but in this industry you gotta have 'em. My friend Alexandra Palace is writing one... for now here are my thoughts.
I love hip-hop.
I'm from Fredericton, New Brunswick, but moved to Ottawa in 2005 after finishing my Bachelor's and Masters in Computer Science ... 8.5 years in university eliminates all materialistic ambitions...
I'm in awe of simplicity... but constantly find myself in a chaotic busy state... I adapt to what's thrown my way. I deal with crap. I deal with real good people. I'm too honest. I find myself running away from accolades and embracing new challenges...
* I started out in 1997 as the hip-hop writer for my university's newspaper, The Brunswickan . In 2001 I moved on to be a senior writer at HipHopCanada.com . We won UMAC awards every year I wrote there 2002-2005.
* I managed some artists. I got nominated for Manager of the Year at the 2005 East Coast Music Awards ...
* In 2005, I started my marketing & promotion company, Brockway Entertainment . I won a NBIF prize. Two of the radio/press projects I handled resulted in 2006 Juno nominations for Classified and Eternia .
* I promoted the Atlantic Canada hip-hop scene with my newsletter. I was nominated for Volunteer of the Year at the 2005 Urban Music Association of Canada Awards .
* I made some music, performed at some venues, put out 2 cds and a 12" vinyl. I won a 2005 East Coast Music Award for Urban Single of the Year.
* I directed a few of my own music videos. Ed the Sock had a love/hate affair with one of them... Soon to air is an episode of his late night show with me in the hot tub with Molly & Pam.
Right now the biggest thing going on is that I'm working with Nelly's Pimp Juice on some stuff. (yes, I'm talking about the huge rapper from St. Louis)
Otherwise, keep your head on straight and thank someone who did something good for you today..
