Union of Soviet Socialist Republics

The former Soviet Union which formed out of the Russian Revolution and was dissolved in 1989 was first led by Vladimir Lenin whose reign was given up to Joseph Stalin. After fighting through World War 2 and succeeding in defeating Germany from the East the glorious Soviet Union was recognized as a world power. Tensions began to grew between us and our counterpart, the greedy Capitalist nation of the United States of America. We succeeded in stretching our boundaries halfway across Europe and the Iron Curtain was drawn directly through Germany. A nuclear arms race began and both the Soviet Union and the United States began to produce mulititudes of nuclear weapons. New Soviet leaders came after Stalin and our relations with the United States continued to grow even more sour. The United States began to fight the Korean War and and armistice was signed. The 38th parallel became the dividing line for North and South Korea. With our great friend Fidel Castro we began to place our nuclear arsenal in Cuba and caused the Cuban missile crisis in 1962
