About Me

The music industry is littered with self-defined composers, producers, and engineers who claim they are enthralled with creating music that is mysterious, energetic and captivating. Some boast their styles vary from the hardest, punchiest of rock to the subtle and understated piano/guitar pieces, and of course, everything in between. But how many of the growing number of “one-man bands” and producers measure up to this tall order? Dave Swiecicki is indeed one who does. With piano as his trained instrument, Swiecicki began to take interest in capturing his original ideas during the mid-90’s. His love affair for arranging and producing was immediate. Swiecicki refined his recording and mixing chops and reached out to collaborate and network with other artists. Soon after, he represented one-half of the founding members of successful powerhouse rock band Jet Set Satellite. The band’s highlight reel is lengthy and continues to grow having seen them secure two “Top 40” mainstream hits in Canada, network television placements (Tru Calling, Dead Like Me, ER, John Doe and Roswell) and film placements (Soul Survivors and American Outlaws) in U.S. markets. Building from the ground up, Jet Set Satellite is a mature and serious rock band, showcasing their sound across North America, in European tours, and playing to roaring crowds upwards of 90,000 fans.Swiecicki reveals that his intensity for music and production heightened after a conversation with an iconic and influential producer. “My favorite moment will always be when Pierre Marchand (Sarah McLachlan, The Devlins, Rufus Wainwright) called me”, says Swiecicki. “We just talked about music.” That conversation would see Marchand going to bat for Jet Set Satellite and aid in landing them a record, publishing and management deal. The hard rock that Jet Set Satellite is so eager and hungry to deliver represents a mere sliver of what Dave Swiecicki is capable of as an artist. Swiecicki prides himself on being able to tear down his material to beautiful, sparse and soulful piano and string accompaniments and build his material all the way up to an all out assault of rock or techno influenced songs. There’s always a cinematic and grand element to Swiecicki’s material, as if each song begs to for a visual counterpart to accent it.While Swiecicki and Jet Set Satellite work on their anticipated third album in 2007, Swiecicki feels it is the right time to introduce the world to some of his own creations. His goal is to find that visual canvas to attach his song to: whether in film, television, commercials, or whatever medium. Having landed a few songs in the cut-throat industry that is today, Swiecicki knows what and how to deliver a captivating tune.
